Die Gewöhnliche Yampa (Perideridia gairdneri (Hook. & Arn.) Mathias[1] (http://www.theplantlist.org/tpl1.1/record/tro-1700970)) gehört zur Familie der Doldenblütler (Apiaceae).
Die Pflanze ist essbar. Sie war einst ein wichtiges Hauptnahrungsmittel der nordamerikanischen Urbevölkerung. Sie hat nussähnliche Wurzeln, welche gekocht als Nahrung genutzt werden.
