Die Pflanze
Der Haplopappus ist eine 50 bis 80 cm hohe Staude. Die Blätter sind länglich-oval mit gezackten Rändern. An den unteren Bereichen der Sprossachsen sterben die Blätter oft ab. Die Blüten sind gelb, einzelstehend und 1,5 bis 2 cm im Durchmesser.
Der Haplopappus ist in Chile von Coquimbo bis Colchagua verbreitet (Hoffmann 1995).
Die Pflanze wird in Chile als Brennmaterial genutzt.
